Welcome to the South Winneshiek High School!

South Winneshiek is a district that includes four towns within its border. We have a rural environment and our economy has direct ties to agriculture.

Our students are definitely academic achievers. Our academic success is measured by various assessment tools but the most pertinent is our alumni success at post secondary schools. We have a very good reputation that has developed for years for our students in terms of college success. In the past five years we have averaged 90% of our students going to post secondary institutions.

The South Winneshiek Warriors participate in the Upper Iowa Conference. This is a very competitive conference and, depending on the sport, has three different classes within it for state competition. It is very rare that a conference school is not involved and competing in the state championship tournament or event.

Our fine arts programs have earned many division one ratings in state competitions and we have representatives at All State which is the most elite for the various activities. Our musical and play are well attended each year and play to a packed house.

Our students are very important to the community. Our parents, staff, and peers are actively engaged in supporting each other and our school. Numerous organizations are involved in establishing an environment that provides for our students and helps them get a little extra to accomplish their goals.

It is my hope that you will enjoy the high school side of the website. It will be enjoyable and provide information to help you recognize what South Winn has to offer.

Parents, I am excited to offer you an on-line scheduling program that you will use to set up 10 minute conference times to meet with your child's teachers. You should have received an e-mail (or letter) explaining how to use this conference scheduling tool. It is very easy to use and should eliminate long waiting lines to visit with some teachers. During the spring conferences, teachers will be available in their own classrooms and will now be able to have student materials readily available to share with you. You should also have privacy which was not also available when all teachers set up in the study hall. It is our hope that you can now select the teachers that you need to conference with without feeling the pressure to see all of your child's teachers.
JMC online has now made it easy to view your child's grades 24/7, with this on-line scheduling tool, you should also be able to select just the teachers that you need to meet with to address your concerns. Of course, you can schedule a conference with any teacher using this program.
