Off to District Large Grup Speech contest: Waukon High School, Saturday, Jan. 23rd.
The South Winneshiek High School Large Group Speech team has been working since November 1st, finding scripts, cutting scripts, creating scripts, and finally, memorizing scripts for contest. We have a great bunch of students, some coming in at 7:30 a.m. and others staying till 7:00 p.m. If students are coming in at those hours, so are the coaches. This year, Pat Downs is the Large Group Speech coach with Kenn Kirby coaching Musical Theatre and Kurt Straube coaching 9th grade one act.
We invite all parents, friends, and people who love a great day of theatre to come to Waukon on Saturday., January23rd. We love an audience! And, the energy from all those kids, whether it’s a one-act performance or an ensemble-acting group, is fantastic. There is a $3 charge to attend. There is also a $1 program charge; however, if you contact me: or one of the team members, I can e-mail you a copy of the schedule or give you a paper schedule.
Below is a list of groups and students. We will post the schedule as soon as we receive it.
